1. I've got quite a few old photos of family reunions. Guess I'll compile them here and caption them as best I can. This, to me, is the premier picture. June 1963 at cousin Dubert 'DJ' Pyron's house at Hickory Flat, just northwest of Adamsville, TN a few miles. I remember attending and having a great time. That's my sister Sylvia at front left, kneeling, with a print dress and a big smile. I'm way back behind her, standing, with a telephone pole sticking out of my head. I have identified all the folks here in a later photo, below, beginning at Photo 90. This is the first family reunion I remember. If we had them in the 1950s, I've forgotten them. I do remember them in the later 1960s and '70s, up through the 1990s. As the older generation got older or died off, interest wained and we stopped gathering. I'm delighted that Dubert's family still get together in June each year at Gatlinburg. A reunion is an old family custom for the Pyrons. Some of these photos I have must date to the early years of the twentieth century.
BUT, before we get to the reunions, you need to learn a little more about our ancestors - who we actually honor when we've gathered in reunion.
